This can save from hotel costs and allow a place for speakers, evangelists, missionaries, some in transition or immediate emergency housing situations to be handled with a greater ease.

There can be a large difference.

Many coaches, consultants, self proclaimed experts, so called certified experts and an array of others make a great deal of claims that they have authority.

Unfortunately, it often times is only a reflection of someone that is generating that authority in a false or less than authoritative way.

This applies to the claims, the content, the bios, the service lists and the messaging and marketing as a whole. It seems that there are way too many out there that are so eager to present what they wish they were over being honest, transparent and being held liable for who they actually are.

From plagiarism to copying to the templates that are sold to coaches as well as AI created content and courses that give some hype certificate or certification…The appearance or reflection of authority seems to be what many chase these days.

So many are out there claiming to have authority or be an authority, yet all they are doing is reflecting, repeating and regurgitating someone else’s authority.

And in that lack of experience, wisdom and knowledge, while they might be able to present something that sounds good, looks good and has worked for some… it may not work for all… and can end up hurting many more than it helps.

Consider taking the time to dig in and see if those you are working with or hiring to be a source of authority are actually generating that authority… or if they are just reflecting it from someone else.

Does FSG believe in my truth and your truth concepts?

No. FSG is committed to the differentiation of opinion and fact. Fish Stewarding Group believes in clarifying the differences between an objective truth and a subjective opinion to develop the right messaging, strategies and concepts for any client and any piece of content going out.

I do not believe in my truth and I do not believe in your truth.

There is fact and there is opinion. 

Just because you believe in something so much and wish it was true, does not make it true. And if I return in a conversation saying I am prepared to respect your opinion, but it is shoved back in my face that it is a truth, makes it a great challenge to have any kind of conversation that can go anyone respectful.

This applies to awards as well. So many get wrapped up in who is the best over understanding, that it completely subjective. Awards are subjective and popular opinions … and in some cases based on popularity or in other cases, just bought.

Please consider clarifying the difference between fact and opinion. It may help your reputation and your opinions to be seen in a stronger light as well as showcase a new honor and humility in your messaging.

How do we communicate? Our preferred communication style at FSG. One of the Fish Stewarding Group FAQs on healthy communication for productive conversations and results.

How do we communicate?

Our short answer is with integrity, honor, patience and calm. We believe these are at the core to allow for the most productive conversations and results.

This is not by any means a rule book when it comes to communication. FSG looks at this as a guide and an approach that we like to have in conversations with those we are working with or are considering working with us as well as for any professional or for that matter, personal conversations as well.

In our experience, these touch points allow for mutual understanding, respect and growth to occur as well as being achieved faster.. The same expectations we ask for below are the same you can expect from the Fish Stewarding Group. You may also want to ensure that this is the kind of communication you have internally and externally in your business. This is a large part of our discussion and discovery when it comes to the FSG Messaging and Optics work.

In someways, this approach can be summed up in the above quote with the idea that communication centered around transparency, humility, honor, accountability as well as the ability to hear the other side and not make or rush to judgements when disputes arise… can allow for the best paths and best growth possible.

How do we communicate? This is our checklist of sorts that we apply…

and we ask of others to apply and practice this communication style at FSG as well when in conversations in the happiest times and in the most frustrating ones.

  1. Please differentiate and clarify the opinions from facts.
  2. Consider that your intention may not translate to perception.
  3. Listen instead of preparing a response and not hearing.
  4. Please stay away from insulting.
  5. Avoid sarcasm.
  6. Refrain from passive aggressive communication tactics.
  7. If something feels off, explain it immediately as well as why.
  8. If something feels insulting, share why it feels insulting instead of stating that someone is insulting you.
  9. Dial back the claims, the hype, the ego in conversations.
  10. Stand with conviction but also a preparation to shift if the facts prove different.

  11.  Communicate with and in transparency.

  12.  Research for the present and applicable truth for your conversation or debate
    over sharing half truths, expired truths or non relatable truths.
  13. Please do not assume, ask.
  14. Don’t let it sit or simmer. Bring it up and lets get it resolved
  15. Make it a goal to resolve a dispute, over winning one.
  16. Communicate with Love, Humility, Authority, Authenticity and Integrity
  17. Do not nod your head or act like you understand if you don’t.
  18. If you do not received a response to an email, a call or a text in 24 hours, on a weekday, please resend. Do not wait or assume we are busy.
  19. Leave out the Fear, Ego, Hearsay, Anxiety and Dishonesty.
  20. If you can’t figure something out, as soon as it is causing confusion, fill us in and don’t wait till the next meeting or call. Let’s nip issues in the bud.

Loren Weisman is a Messaging and Optics Strategist for the Fish Stewarding Group (FSG).

Weisman keeps his focus on the communication, connotations, engagement, compliance and stability of each brand, persona or product.

Weisman has stayed up to date with the constant changes inside and outside of the entertainment industries over the past three decades as well as keeping up with the pulse and optics of content creation, messaging and marketing, promotion, and social media trends.

This allows for the most authentically effective, and up to date consideration when applying the individualized and personalized methods, approaches and plans. He has been a part of over 700 albums as a session/ ghost drummer and music producer.

Who is Loren T Weisman?
Loren also maintains TV productions credits for ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, TLC and more, as well as serving as a media consultant for many businesses in and out of the arts and entertainment fields. Weisman got to see an array of the ins, outs, ups and downs of music, which he shared as the author of The Artists Guide to Success in the Music Business” (Greenleaf Book Group) and “Music Business for Dummies” (Wiley & Sons). In short, my definition of a messaging and optics strategist is an individual that looks at the foundational, stability, security and marketing elements a brand, product, business or story. 

This focuses on the authenticity, authority, optics, psychology and perceptions of a brand, persona or product.

With this information, as well as a discovery and research into a series of other elements, a blueprint can be built to allow for the strongest foundation of a message. From there, the marketing, promotion and publicity can amplify a less time consuming approach that can also save marketing dollars as well.

It is a person that looks to serve as a unbiased third party to help with a discovery that includes a research analysis of: patterns, similarities, differences, tones, tempos and temperatures of what is in place, what is required before marketing and what is missing.

This can include interviews asking if in the communication, messaging and optics from both an online and offline standpoint as well as helping to present a messaging performance outline for the business, the product, the service or person.

How do I tell my story over telling a story?

Many children relate to stories.  We have noticed a great number of people relate to stories.  This is also found that groups and cultures relate to stories.  With FSG, an element of building a responsible vision is securing and stabilizing your story.  A common trait of undefined visions is an evolving story that conforms and takes on many attributes common to many people.  Transparency can be a lost art in many circles, that can rob an owner of their story by trying to conform to a story to give what they believe other people want.  Strength can be found in authentic, humble and transparent stories.  It’s ok to own your story.  Since it is no one else’s, own it proudly.

This is the same when it comes to the brand messaging. Is your brand messaging telling a story or is it telling your story? Consider making it your story and not trying to script what you think people want to hear.

In starting to build-out a responsible vision, FSG comes along side to help develop an owner’s vision by means of extrapolation, organization and endurance.  A responsible vision does not start with l want to make as money as possible.  It should also be noted that we feel making money is not bad and should be an objective of the effort, just not the main objective.

How do you define giving?

At FSG, one of our life’s purpose is knowing when to Give A Fish or to Teach To Fish.  As owner of FSG, I wrestled with this concept as it mainly related to charitable and humanitarian work for me.  In wrestling it out, I realized I lived life in this manner especially in business.  However, I failed in being able to separate the two to allow the Teach To Fish to bear the importance it needed to do.

I realized you Give a Fish to meet a need but more than likely that same need would be there the next day, week, month or year as soon as the money or food ran out.  I also realized that to Teach To Fish I could bring forth destiny by transferring what I knew so that they could one day do for themselves and then transfer that to others they could help.

Your visions foundation. How do you secure it?

At Fish Stewarding Group, security and stability are two pillars we help establish for our clients.  For us, this start with vision and defining what we call responsible visions.  We believe not all visions are worth pursuing.

However, a responsible vision is worth securing and we help do this through our extensive discovery process that helps define and lay out the roadmap for a vision to follow.  In this process, protection at every touchpoint is considered and administered to prevent the vision from being stolen or taken off track.

Bearing the weight is a unique term. How does FSG bear the weight for a client?

You can be hard pressed in life to find someone who knows what to do at all times in every situation.  That is why there are experts, consultants, life coaches, self help books and subject matter experts.  With that established, there can be many ways to obtain the needed help.  Fish Stewarding Group has defined that help through the principle of stewarding and coming along an owner or group for the purpose of teaching and helping them build their business.

At FSG, we bear more of the weight to build a business in the earlier stages.  We bear this weight in establishing the messaging, strategies, finances and development processes.  It is a journey for sure.  It is not for everyone.  But for responsible visions, building authoritative businesses with authentically sound people can be a fun journey to enjoy.
